 Giant Alligator In Alabama

These pictures were taken by  a helicopter flying over Lake Wiess about 90 miles  north of Birmingham , Alabama. The helicopter pilot and the game warden were in communication via radio. Here is a transcript of their  conversation.

'Air1 have you a  visual on the gator, over'

'Approaching inlet  now, over'

'Roger  Air1'

'Gator sighted..  Looks like it has a small animal in its mouth..  moving in, over'

'Roger  Air1'

'Holy Crap it's a  Deer!'

'Confirm Air1..  did you say Deer?, Over'

'Roger.. a Deer in  its mouth.. looks like a full sized buck.. that's  a big gator, we are going to need more men,  Over'

'Roger Air1.. can  you give me a idea on size of animal,  over'

'Its big 25 feet  at least, please advise Gator is heading to  inlet.. do I pursue?, over'

Alligator with Stag in its Mouth

That has to be a HUGE  gator to have a whole deer in its  mouth! The deer was later  found to be a mature Stag and was measured at  11  feet! This alligator was  found between Centre and Leesburg , Alabama , near a  house ! Game wardens were forced to shoot the alligator. Anita and Charlie  Rogers could hear the bellowing in the night.

Their neighbors had been telling them that  they had seen a mammoth alligator in the waterway that runs behind their house, but they dismissed the stories as exaggerations. I didn't believe it,' Charles Rogers said, but they realized the stories were, if anything, understated. Alabama Parks and Wildlife  game wardens had to shoot the beast. Joe  Goff, 6'5' tall, a game warden, walks past the 28  foot, 1 inch alligator 8.5 meters he shot  and killed in their back yard.

I AM SORRY FOLKS, I CAN NOT SEE THE REASONING BEHIND THE KILLING OF THIS GREAT
REPTILE. HE WAS NOT HUNTING& CATCHING DOMESTIC ANIMALS LIKE DOGS OR CATS, AND
APPEARANTLY HAD NOT REALLY BEEN A THREAT TO ANYONE. IF THIS HUGE GATOR WAS JUST
MINDING HIS OWN BUSINESS AND FEEDING OFF THE WILDLIFE, THEN WHY KILL HIM?I GUESS
OUR SOCIETY HAS JUST BECOME SO INTENT ON KILLING OFF ANY ANIMAL THAT WE ACTUALLY
MAKE OURSELVES BELIEVE IT IS OK, TO KILL OFF ALL WILDLIFE.IF HE WAS A PROBLEM
GATOR WHY NOT CAPTURE HIM AND PUT HIM IN AN ANIMAL PRESERVE OR A ROADSIDE GATOR
FARM WHO GIVE DEMOS, AND SHOW THIS MAGNIFICENT SPECIMIN THE CHANCE TO LIVE OUT
THE REST OF HIS LIFE IN PEACE, NOT BE A MAN BOASTING ABOUT KILLING THIS OLD GUY.
IT WAS SENSLESS.THE ODDS OF EVER SEEING A GATOR IN THE WILD OR IN A SHOW THIS
LARGE IS PROBABLY A MILLION TO 1, AND PEOPLE WOULD HAVE HAD A CHANCE TO SEE THIS
ONCE IN A LIFETIME OPPORTUNITY, I HAVE LIVED IN FLORIDA ALL MY LIF...

The facts are that these pictures were taken in 2004 by Terri Jenkins, an
officer of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife service over the Harris Neck National
Wildlife Refuge about 40 miles South of Savannah, Georgia. ( swimming
gator)
According to a news release, she was aboard a helicopter that was
igniting prescribed fires in the refuge when the 12 to 13-foot alligator was
spotted swimming with the full-grown deer in its mouth.
Dead gator was in TX.
Please fact check before you post bulls^%$

11 foot stag??? Alabama deer do not grow anywhere near that large. Not to
mention that a deer that large would be a world record on its own, and would
have had a huge write up just about it. Wake up.. Matt Stone This has even
had a write up in fish and game over 8 yrs ago so you should have had no
problems finding the facts! Alabama wardens do not wear tan uniforms. They wear
dark green. I lived on Weiss lake for most of my life. You would think we would
have heard about it here wouldnt you?? We have not heard of this except on
bullshit sites like this that spout off fake stories and talk trash about
southern people.
