 Hamburger Joe's Wilmington NC

Hamburger Joe's was a place where the beer flowed like wine and it was cheap. The service was great and it was an environment to enjoy at all times, especially on a Sunday afternoon.  Everyone who dined in Hamburger Joe's was easy going and friendly. I regret to report that Hamburger Joe's has been closed due to the current economic state. We believe the fault is not on Joe's but rather the dereliction of Washington DC and the ineptitude for law makers to posses any concept of competency in their jobs. The following is a compilation of the wonderful things in which Hamburger Joe's bestowed on all those in Wilmington NC who ever graced the establishment with their presence.

The place always and only had chicks working at it so eye candy was everywhere. It was almost like a Hooters but a bit more family oriented and quaint conversation. If you where under 19 years of age, the you were safe to date any girl who worked there. Remember, its a family restaurant that all real men respected and showed great manners at. Even UNC fans were welcomed at Hamburger Joe's so that should tell you it saw not race, color creed or college affiliation.

The manager was a nice guy who always walked around the room and checked on things. He was like a hawk making sure everything was running smoothly and that it was almost like Never land because the drinks always remained full. The operations of this facility was top notch and the manager even had live bands perform one night during the week and on Sunday evenings. It was a great place to relax, enjoy inexpensive good food and all this was due to the manager.

In the end, Hamburger Joe's was a place for many first dates that blossomed into a happy relationships that lasted many sunsets down the road. It was a family restaurant but more importantly a land mark before you hit the beach. Stopping by for lunch on a Saturdays and of course for Sunday football was a real treat for the old fat tooth. I as well as many Guy Coders will be sad this treasure will no longer cater to our beach bellies. I hope

World Famous Hamburgers

Hamburger Joe's was a burger you couldn't say was the greatest your first visit. It was like the Lays potato chip commercial, in that you had to come back to really appreciate it. The taste was so different you realized its was food poetry the second time around. The burgers were cooked almost Pittsburgh style where it was seared around the edges with he cheese melting in all the right places. You literally could order 3 or 4 during the course of an afternoon football game. The fact that the had cheap beer specials made it even harder to leave sober. The beer came in those classic plastic cups that for some reason tasted like cold Gatorade during a soccer game. The place was truly full of character and the food was just a bonus.

 Hamburger Joe's Wilmington Closed

We all know those politicians in Washington DC were directly responsible for the closing of Hamburger Joe's. If anything industry or place of business should have received a bailout it was Hamburger Joe's. All of your politicians out there I want you to know they reserve a special place in hell for those responsible for great American restaurants like this to go under. Hamburger Joe's was too big to fail and you dropped the ball right on your own face. I urge everyone to write your congressman about this outrage and loss of Hamburger Joes. If Jesse Helms had been alive this never would have happened.
