 Is Cheer Leading A Sport?

The question asking "Is cheer leading a sport" must be given a serious answer. Of course it's not a sport, why would it be? I am by no means knocking cheer leading I just do not want to knock one up. No seriously, I do not honestly believe cheer leading is a sport. Is it a competition, sure, when they go compete for best "WOO WOO" in cheer leading tournaments. I know I am going to offend Women who think cheer leading is a sport but its merely a positive distraction at a "sporting" event. For all of you cheerleaders out there who just dropped your pom poms in anger, I plan on explaining why the act of cheer leading is not a sport.

First of all, the definition of a "SPORT" is defined as a "physical activity that is governed by a set of rules or customs and often engaged in competitively. Well, cheerleaders do compete in competitions however, where does cheer leading predominately take place at? At sporting events having to do with football and basketball. You know, the reason why people attend and watch sports to begin with. Based on this realization, I would say cheer leading is nothing more than a classy piece of ass jumping up and down with permission from local authorities to do without fear of breaking the law.

If you think I am way off base then ask yourself when was the last time you saw a cheer leading event on regular cable? Cheer leading can typically be seen by itself during the month of march when they have their cheer against other cheer leaders on ESPN but why its not called a dance competition, I will never know. In addition to, you only see cheer leading by itself when there is a time out or when the team leaves the field or court for half time or commercial break. Unless you are actually at the game, the camera do not pan too long on the cheer leaders as the commercial sets in for those viewing at home.

Do not get me wrong, I Love cheer leading but that is not the point. The point of cheer leading is to sell Sex and watch sports at the same time. You see, men love food and sex but those are two pleasures you do not want to engage in at the same time. However, watching sports and sex at the same time can be done with the use of cheerleaders. If you think I'm joking I can assure you its completely a psychological fix men enjoy. You have hot girls jumping up and down with their tid bits bobbling everywhere and at the same time you have the glorious view of sports being played. You may think that is utterly ridiculous concept but then you should know how men think and that all women are regarded as the next lay so why would cheerleaders and sports be any different?

In the end I would argue that the cheer leading is not a sport plain and simple. The primary purpose of cheer leading is to entertain. However, that is the purpose of real sports is it not? However, cheer leading squads do not participate in any competitions at a sanctioned sporting event standing alone. That is to say, they do not show up to compete against another squad not having to do with the purpose of a cheer leading tournament. More over, cheerleaders sole purpose is to entertain, motivate, antagonize (in some cases) and unite spectators to rally behind the athletic teams that are cheering for. Cheer leading is most often defined as the "Act of leading organized cheering at sporting events".In conclusion, just because cheerleaders looks athletic does not make them athletes nor does it qualify the act as a sporting event.

What Constitutes A Sport?

* A physical activity which involves propelling a mass through space or overcoming the resistance of a mass.

* A contest or competition against or with an opponent.

* Is governed by rules which explicitly define the time, space and purpose of the contest and the conditions under which a winner is declared.

* The acknowledged primary purpose of the competition is a comparison of the relative skills of the participants.

* You must have a number on the back of your uniform.

The Cheerleader Defined

What makes a great cheerleader? Is it her looks, weight, size, flexibility, attitude, breast size, hair color or smile? Honestly all those things come into play as a cheerleader. Cheerleaders typically are the total package fantasy of the girl desired by most men. After all, not just any chick can be a cheerleader unless they cheer for UNC. For example, a girl must have the ability to sell your body's features and have coordination for that jumping up and down stuff. The picture above is hands down an all around American girl cheerleader. That's why guys look for when they check out the girls doing hand springs on the side lines yelling "WOOOOO!" 

 What is the purpose of Cheer leading?

So seriously, what is the purpose of cheer leading? Cheer leading serves 3 purposes at sporting events. The fire purpose is to keep butts in the stand when the home team is getting their ass kicked. The second purpose is to draw random guys in who don't necessarily have an interest in sports but rather to watch hot pieces of ass jump around. The third purpose of cheer leading is to motivate not only the crowd but the players of the home team. I know the last reason was a stretch but lets try to suspend a little disbelief. I guess you can sum up all three of those reason as cheerleaders are meant to entertain.

This Is All Guys See

I know that cheerleaders practice really hard and want to be taken seriously in the world of sports but all guys want to see are the voyeur shots. I know that is not fair to all the girls who can take a round off bang hand spring back tuck but the fact that you are wearing a teaser costume is all that holds guys attention. Ironically, cheerleaders want cheer leading to be a sport but the only people that they are competing with are other cheerleaders. As I said before, most guys are watching for the cheap thrills and maybe a nipple will pop out and a fortuitous crotch shot. . 

Cheerleading Exclusive to America

 Every American male loves a girl wearing a cheer leader uniform. Most of the time the girls wearing them were never cheerleaders to begin with but they are fulfilling a sexual fantasy of their boyfriend / fiancee / husband. Moreover, the entire theme of cheer leading originated in America and most countries could never relate to it. However, people with money and enterprise started to realize the potential of using sex to sell a sporting event. The cheer leading fantasy has spread all over the world. If the concept for support at sporting events wasn't the cause, then you can be assured the reason for selling sex is.

Let's face it, being a cheerleader is the path to miss popularity. All guys want to date a cheerleader and all guys stare at you in your little pom pom uniform. so you still win in the end, you just can not call it a sport.
